You can love your things…
but things are just things
they come and go.

Our so-called leaders keep on telling us, they say everything is cool, it'll all be fine
the economy's not ailin'
and the banks are really failing
And we'll just print some more money just in time.

The fools up on wall street
keep selling us
they say "I can make you lots of money and mighty fast"
and all you got to do to play
is just do what I say and then
send me all of your cash.

So you grab for all you can handle
Material wants and desires

Honesty and understanding,
Is much too simple a truth

As we gamble with our youth
